Planning Was a Little Bit Like Herding Cats, But Our First-Ever Book Event Delivered

What started as organized chaos turned into an unforgettable night of laughter, connection, and community.

One of the first things women tell me after reading If You Give a Cat a Hot Flash is, “I thought it was just me.” A little over a week ago,  more than 65 lovely ladies proved it’s 100% not “just you.”

Thank You to everyone who came out and helped plan, set up, and capture this fun evening!

I want to send a big thank you to our gracious hosts, Craft Urban and Yellow Bird Books in Aurora, IL for hosting our first-ever book event! The evening was filled with friends, family, patients from my clinic, laughter, stories, questions, hugs, hot flashes, pink fans, shopping, pre-orders, and the kind of conversations that only happen when women are surrounded by people who just get it. 

We chatted about everything from brain fog and sleepless nights to why we suddenly have the patience of an over-caffeinated cat. We laughed about the peri/menopause symptoms nobody warned us about, like forgetting why we walked into a room, wondering whether we've become entirely different people or if our hormones decided to rewrite the script.

Some of my favorite moments were meeting new friends for the first time and hearing everyone share their own stories while I signed their books. Many had already read the book, while others picked up their first copy and introduced themselves with: “Okay, this cat is me.”

Truthfully? That’s exactly why I wrote it.

For our tiny team, there is no greater compliment than knowing women are laughing about our book, and then immediately handing it over to a friend. And we love hearing your feedback!
